One of the most misunderstood aspects of health insurance

One of the most misunderstood aspects of Health Insurance, I believe is how a plans deductible works, when the health carrier will start paying out on your co-pays and what you will be paying.

I am a Health Insurance Specialist in California, Health Insurance plans and Carriers are state to state but a deductible is pretty much the same thing across the board. Most PPO plans will give you at least 2 office visits before you meet your deductible which will only pay for the visit itself not the lab work or x-rays you have done on that same day. Your lab work and x-rays will be covered under in-patient co-pay after your deductible is met. Until that time you will pay the full negotiated rate for the service.

When picking a plan, make sure to see what your Stop loss or Co-pay limit will be. The Co-pay limit is the most you will spend in one year one medical bills.
